MEET CARA

Dr. Cara L. T. Murphy is a writer, teacher, and New Testament scholar with one aim: to help people fall in love with the life of Jesus.

She holds a PhD in Biblical Studies (New Testament) from Columbia International University and an MA in Religious Studies with a focus in biblical languages. She currently serves as adjunct faculty at Denver Seminary, Colorado Christian University, and Irish Bible Institute in Dublin and has taught undergraduate and graduate level for over two decades, bringing seminary-caliber scholarship to students both inside and outside the academy.

Cara believes discipleship isn't reserved for the classroom. Her calling is to bring quality, Christ-centered teaching to men and women alike — small groups or large, students or lifelong learners — because the invitation to know Jesus more deeply belongs to everyone.

Cara is an American-born, Irish-bred writer and teacher. She lives in Colorado with her husband and two daughters, and adventures whenever she can in County Kerry, Ireland — chasing more of God in all the unveiled places. A pilgrim at heart, she cold plunges daily, cultivates both roses and good conversation, and delights in the "wild country" of Scripture as much at her kitchen table as in the classroom.

THE INQUISITIVE CHRIST

12 Engaging Questions

There's an incredible truth about the nature of Christ: the Son of God is a curious God who asks — and His questions are life-changing.

In The Inquisitive Christ, Dr. Cara L.T. Murphy explores twelve of the most powerful questions Jesus asked in the Gospels — out of the more than 300 questions Scripture records Him asking. Through Christ's questions, readers encounter His love, His invitation into the Kingdom, and the relevance of His promises for their lives today.

"An exquisite work, one for those who seek not only truth, but goodness and beauty, too." — Karen Swallow Prior, author of On Reading Well

"You will find yourself on an adventure with God that is profoundly intimate and real." — Dr. Lisa Sosin, psychotherapist and professor

PRAISE FOR THE INQUISITIVE CHRIST

“A brilliant and compelling inquiry into deep mystery…I was profoundly strengthened by THE INQUISITIVE CHRIST. It’s a message I needed today. This work matters and will change the world. It is perfectly timed for such an hour as this. This message deserves to live and breathe on shelves of curated libraries of the hungry hearted for years to come…It is fragrant and pregnant with the living, breathing, supernatural life of God. Cara Murphy turns us back to the questions reminding us that is his questions that will access us in the deepest places. The reflections after each chapter turned me both into my own story with new perspective and to the scriptures with fresh eyes and fresh hope. For those who are curious about slipping beyond the religious veil and wrestling with the mystery, the generosity of care and the audacity of hope embodied in Christ, this is a timeless read.”
